Getting towels embroidered in bulk costs £4.50 a gym towel, £6.50 a hand towel and £8 a bath towel, with the stitched logo already included in the price. Those are FOB figures at the 50-piece minimum per design; face towels and bath sheets are quoted. From 200 pieces the rate drops by up to 20%, from 1,000 by up to 35%, and production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval.
What does embroidery add to the price of a towel?
Nothing as a separate line. Our published towel prices are per piece and include branding, so each figure is a finished, embroidered towel, not a blank awaiting a decoration charge. Digitising (turning artwork into the stitch file an embroidery machine follows) and a proofed mockup are included, and nothing is stitched until you approve the proof.

GSM is grams per square metre, the weight of cotton in a square metre of towel. FOB (free on board) means the price covers towels made, branded and packed for export; freight, duty and local taxes are extra, with freight quoted per destination.
How do the towel volume tiers work?
Towels have three tiers of their own, separate from our clothing tiers: 50 to 199 pieces pay the base wholesale rate, 200 to 999 earn up to 20% off, and 1,000 or more earn up to 35% off.

Read the percentages as ceilings: the quote states the actual rate for your mix of sizes, colours and branding. Near a boundary, say 180 bath towels against 200, ask for both prices. The minimum counts per design, so one logo across the order reaches a tier fastest.
What makes one embroidered towel cost more than another?
Five things move a towel quote, none of them the grade of cotton. If you have not settled how the logo goes on, choosing between embroidery, dobby borders and labels comes first.
- Size. A bath towel weighs about 600 g to a gym towel's 130 g, which is most of the gap between £4.50 and £8; see the towel sizes chart.
- GSM. A heavier build than a size's standard, anywhere from 400 to 700 GSM, adds yarn to every piece.
- Logo size. Embroidery is priced on stitches, so a compact border mark takes less machine time than a wide logo across a bath sheet.
- Woven labels. A label or loop tab is a separate woven item with its own artwork.
- Packaging. Belly bands, sleeves and boxes add to the per-piece figure, compared in towel gift sets and packaging.
Every size in the Velocity Wear range is the same 100% combed cotton from long-staple ring-spun yarn, reactive-dyed, wash-tested and finished with reinforced hems for industrial wash cycles. A cheaper towel here is a smaller towel, not a thinner one.
How should you compare embroidered towel quotes?
Compare the landed cost of a finished towel, not the headline number, with five checks on every quote.
