Who it’s for
Custom sportswear in detail
What a custom sportswear manufacturer makes for you
A club or a brand rarely needs one garment. A season usually means a training top and a jersey for sessions and matches, a team hoodie and a matching tracksuit for travel, and a sweatshirt or jogger for the warm-down, all in the same colours and carrying the same crest. As a custom sportswear manufacturer we make the whole set to one specification, so the navy of the jersey and the navy of the hoodie agree. Clubs we make kit for range from football, rugby and cricket to running, netball and martial arts, alongside gyms and activewear labels building their own range. Our guide to the best fabrics for gym wear and activewear compares the options.
Performance polyester or brushed fleece
Two fabric families cover most sportswear. Lightweight polyester is the choice for kit that is trained and played in: it dries quickly, packs into a kit bag, and takes sublimation edge to edge, so a striped or panelled design costs no more weight than a plain one. Brushed-back fleece from 280 to 450 GSM is the choice for what is worn before and after: club hoodies, tracksuits and sweatshirts that should feel like retail clothing. The exact performance fabric for your kit is agreed in the quote and can be checked on a sample before the run.
Sublimation, heat-applied numbers or embroidery
Sublimation dyes the design into polyester, so colour runs to the seams, nothing sits on the surface and the print cannot crack or peel; it is the method for full jersey designs and all-over training tops. Heat-applied names and numbers suit individual personalisation on a shared design. Screen printing and DTF suit sponsors and smaller marks on cotton or fleece. Embroidery is the long-lasting choice for a crest on a hoodie, polo or tracksuit top. Most kits combine two or three of these, and our sublimation printing guide explains where it works and where it does not.
From quote to kit bag: how an order runs
Send the garments, the quantity per design, your crest and sponsor logos, and a squad list of names, numbers and sizes if the kit is personalised. An itemised quote comes back within 1 hour on a working day. Our designers prepare a digital mockup of every garment and position; production starts once you approve it and the 50% deposit is paid, and takes 10 to 15 working days under quality control. The balance is due when the order is ready to ship. To check fabric and fit first, a sample of one or two pieces costs £150 including shipping and is credited against the bulk order.
Teamwear minimums and pricing
The minimum is 50 pieces per design, with sizes mixed freely and names and numbers varying piece by piece inside the run, so a squad of mixed sizes is one design rather than many. A second colourway, such as a home and an away kit, is a second design. Sportswear is priced on request, because the garment, the fabric and the number of decoration positions move the cost. The garments with published starting prices keep them here: custom hoodies from £30 and tracksuits from £50 a set, each with volume pricing on its own page.
A sportswear manufacturer for the UK and USA
Velocity Wear is a UK company, Spiderhunts Technologies Ltd, with production by our team in Lahore, Pakistan. Kit ships by tracked freight, charged on the weight and dimensions of the shipment and quoted as its own line, and import duties, taxes and customs charges at destination are the recipient's responsibility. Our UK delivery guide and USA delivery guide explain how delivery and duties work for each market. For jerseys on their own, see custom sports jerseys; for kit we have already made, browse the sports kits catalogue.
How ordering sportswear & teamwear works
The terms behind the quote, so there is nothing to discover after you enquire.
Minimum and mixing
50 pieces per design. Sizes are mixed freely inside one design; a second colourway or style is a separate design with its own 50-piece minimum. What a 50-piece minimum buys you
What the price includes
Quoted per order, quoted per garment and decoration. Delivery is charged on the weight and dimensions of the shipment and quoted with your order, separately from the product price. Import duties, taxes and customs charges at destination are the recipient's responsibility.
Larger runs
Each order is quoted on its own quantity, so send the run size you actually want and the quote prices that, rather than a published tier.
What to send for a quote
The item, quantity, size split, colours, where the branding sits and your artwork. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) are ideal and Pantone references help; a rough sketch is fine, our designers tidy it. An itemised quote comes back within 1 hour on a working day. Send the brief
Approval and production
A digital mockup is proofed and approved before anything is made. Production starts once the proof is approved and the 50% deposit is paid, and takes 10 to 15 working days, before freight, on fabric that is GSM-verified, pre-shrunk and colour-locked, under quality control.
Shipping, payment and invoicing
Tracked freight to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and UAE and across Europe. Shipping time is in addition to production. Delivery is charged on the weight and dimensions of the shipment and quoted with your order, separately from the product price. Import duties, taxes and customs charges at destination are the recipient's responsibility. Payment is 50% when the order is placed and 50% once the order is ready to ship. Invoices can be raised in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AED, SEK and DKK.
Samples
£150 for one or two samples, worldwide shipping included. Place a bulk order afterwards and the £150 comes off your invoice. Order a sample
Labels, packaging and reorders
Private label with woven labels, neck labels and hangtags, branded packaging, and printed polythene bags with size stickers so a run ships folded and bagged. Artwork, thread codes, colour references and the size grade stay on file, so a reorder matches the first run.
