50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

Wholesale towels for a gym are quoted per job rather than from a fixed list price, because weight, size and branding method all move the number. The minimum is 50 pieces per design, sizes mixed freely, and production runs 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval. Most gyms end up with two specifications: a hard-wearing floor towel and a heavier one for retail.

Which towel weight belongs on the gym floor?

We supply gym, spa and hotel weights, and the difference matters more on a fitness floor than anywhere else. Gym weight is the lightest of the three. It dries fast, folds small enough to sit on a rack by the door, and takes an industrial wash cycle without taking half a day to dry afterwards. That last point is the one people underestimate: a towel that takes two cycles to dry is a towel that spends its life in the laundry rather than on the rack.

Spa weight is denser and feels better in the hand, which suits changing rooms, wet areas and anything you sell rather than lend. Hotel weight is heavier again and belongs on a sale rail rather than in circulation. Our wholesale towels page covers the sizes each weight comes in.

Should staff towels and member towels be one order or two?

This is the question that decides the budget. If both carry identical artwork on the same towel, it is one order and the whole quantity counts towards the tier. If the staff version carries a different word, a different colour or a different position, it is a second design and a second 50. There is no partial credit between them.

The way round it is to design one towel that works for both. A logo alone, with no role written on it, is handed out at reception, sold at the counter and issued to trainers without a second version existing. Gyms that want a visible split usually do it with colour, which still counts as a separate run if the screens change, so the saving is smaller than it looks. More of the fitness-side detail sits on our gyms and fitness page.

How is a gym towel branded so the logo survives?

Two methods: woven or printed. Woven means the mark is built into the towel as it is made, usually as a border or a jacquard panel, and it lasts exactly as long as the towel does because it is not sitting on the surface. Printed puts the artwork on the pile, handles fine detail and multiple colours well, and softens over a long life of hot washes.

For a gym floor towel that will be laundered daily, woven is the safer choice. For a merch towel that a member takes home and washes occasionally, print gives you the artwork you actually want. Our post on personalised gym towels goes into the laundry side in more depth.

What does a gym towel order cost?

Towels are quoted per job. The specification drives it: weight, dimensions, colour count and whether the branding is woven in or printed on. What is fixed is the discount structure. The volume discount reaches up to 35% as quantity rises, measured from the 50-piece price, with tiers at 50 to 99, 100 to 249, 250 to 499, 500 to 999 and 1,000 plus.

A sample is £150, credited against a bulk order. For a towel that is about to go into daily laundry, taking one and washing it a dozen times before committing is time well spent. We invoice in seven currencies and deliver across the UK, USA and Europe, so a multi-site operator can run one order and split the delivery.

Settle one more thing before you pick a quantity: how the towels leave the building. Gyms that lend towels lose them, and the loss rate is usually higher than the laundry cost. Some operators take a deposit, some issue towels against a membership scan, and some price the shrinkage into the annual order and stop worrying about it. Whichever route you take changes the number you buy rather than the specification you buy, so it belongs in the conversation before the tier is chosen rather than a month into stock quietly disappearing.

Quick Answers

Common questions about towels — answered.

Enough for peak occupancy plus a full set in the wash, which in practice means ordering roughly double the number you expect to have out at any one time.

Yes, and it keeps you inside one design. A heavier weight usually sells better, but selling and lending the same specification means the whole quantity counts towards one tier.

Darker colours hide marks between washes but show detergent residue and bleach spotting more. Mid tones are the usual compromise for a floor towel.

Allow 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval plus delivery transit, and add time at the front for the sample if you want to test the wash first.
