50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

Wholesale towels are quoted per job rather than from a fixed from-price, because the specification moves the number more than it does on apparel. Weight, dimensions, colour and branding method each change the cost materially. What is fixed is the shape of the pricing: a 50-piece minimum per design, and up to 35% off that 50-piece price as quantity rises.

What drives the price of a wholesale towel?

Four things, in rough order of impact. Weight first: we supply gym, spa and hotel weights, and the difference between the lightest and the heaviest is a lot of cotton per piece. Size second, for the same reason. A bath sheet is several times the material of a hand towel.

Branding method third. Woven branding is set up during manufacture, printed branding is applied afterwards, and the two carry different cost profiles depending on how many colours are involved. Quantity fourth, which is the only one of the four you can change without changing the product. The specification options are on our wholesale towels page.

How much does the price drop as quantity rises?

The discount reaches up to 35% as quantity rises, measured from the 50-piece price, and it steps through five tiers: 50 to 99, 100 to 249, 250 to 499, 500 to 999 and 1,000 plus. The early steps move the unit price most, so the jump from a minimum order into the hundreds is where the biggest improvement sits.

One detail decides how useful that is. Tiers are calculated on each order individually, not accumulated across a year, so four orders of 100 are priced as four orders of 100 rather than as one of 400. Buyers with predictable annual usage save real money by consolidating, which is covered further in our post on what wholesale towels cost.

Does branding change the unit price?

Yes, and not always in the direction people expect. A single-colour woven border on a large run is efficient, because the setup is spread across the quantity. A detailed multi-colour print on a small run carries more setup per piece. At the minimum of 50 pieces, setup is a bigger share of the unit cost than it is at 500.

That is worth knowing if you are comparing a quote at 50 against one at 300 and wondering why the gap is so wide. It is not only the volume tier doing the work, it is the setup being amortised. Simplifying the artwork to fewer colours is usually the easiest saving available once the weight and size are settled.

What else lands on the invoice?

A sample, if you take one, at £150 and credited against a bulk order. Delivery, which varies with destination: we ship across the UK, USA and Europe and invoice in seven currencies. And private label extras where you want them, such as woven labels, swing tags and packaging, which are specified per job like the towel itself.

Nothing else is hidden in the quote. If you want a number you can budget against, send a written specification with the weight, the size, the quantity and the artwork, and the quote comes back against that rather than against a guess. Our pricing page shows how the tier structure applies across the catalogue.

A word on comparing quotes. Two towel prices are only comparable if the specification behind them is identical, and it usually is not. A figure that looks better per piece may be a lighter weight, a smaller size or a simpler branding treatment, none of which is visible in the number itself. Ask for the weight, the dimensions and the branding method alongside the price, then compare all four together. A towel that costs less and lasts half as long is the more expensive purchase.

Quick Answers

Common questions about towels — answered.

Because the specification moves the cost too much for a single figure to be useful. Weight and size alone can double the material in a piece, so towels are quoted per job.

The tier your quantity falls into is applied to the quote. The ceiling of 35% off the 50-piece price is reached at the largest volumes rather than at every step.

The £150 is credited against a bulk order placed afterwards, so on any order that proceeds it is effectively deducted rather than added.

No. Each design carries its own 50-piece minimum and its own quantity tier, so quantities are not pooled across different designs. Consolidating several variations into one piece of artwork is what moves a buyer up a tier, not placing them on the same purchase order.
