Vacation Rental Towels: Branded Sets That Earn Better Reviews
By The Velocity Wear Team
Short-term rental guests compare listings closely, and reviews are everything. Thin, stained towels show up in reviews. Plush, branded towels help a property feel like a boutique hotel, and they're one of the easiest upgrades a host can make.
What to stock per guest
- One bath towel or bath sheet.
- One hand towel.
- One washcloth-size face towel.
- Beach or pool towels if relevant.
- A bath mat per bathroom.
Sizes
Bath sheet about 35 × 71 in, bath towel about 28 × 55 in, hand towel about 18 × 30 in, face towel about 16 × 24 in. Bath sheets feel generous in higher-end rentals.
White or color?
White is easiest to launder, can be treated for stains, and looks like a hotel. Use a distinct color for beach or pool towels so bathroom towels stay inside.
Par levels for fast turnovers
Keep at least three sets per bed: one in use, one being laundered, one spare. Same-day turnovers may need more.
Turnover laundry
Wash hot, no fabric softener, dry fully. Replace towels with makeup or self-tan stains that won't come out. Some hosts provide dark makeup wipes or cloths to protect white towels.
Branding
Embroider your property or management company name near the hem. It reinforces your brand in guests' photos and makes towels less likely to walk off.
Property managers
One towel design across a portfolio simplifies laundry, ordering and replacement. Our 50-piece minimum per design suits multiple properties.
Missing towels
State towel policies in house rules and listing terms, and follow your platform's rules on damage and missing item claims.
Quick checklist before you order
- Full towel set per guest?
- White for bathrooms, color for pool?
- Three sets per bed?
- Makeup cloths to protect whites?
- Property name embroidered?
Guest photos and reviews
Guests photograph the details that feel special: a basket of rolled towels, a monogram on a bath sheet, a neatly folded stack with the property name. Those photos end up in reviews and social posts that act as free marketing. Branded towels signal that the property is professionally managed.
Stain management between stays
Makeup, self-tanner, hair dye and sunscreen are the biggest enemies of white rental towels. Provide dark makeup wipes or cloths, pre-treat stains quickly during turnovers, and retire towels that won't come clean. Keep replacements in stock so a stained towel never ends up in a guest's bathroom.
Hot tubs and pools
Properties with hot tubs or pools should provide separate towels in a distinct color. It stops guests using bath towels outside and keeps chlorine and dirt away from bathroom linens. Provide a clear spot, like a hook by the door or a basket, for used outdoor towels.
Cleaners and turnover teams
Give turnover teams a simple checklist: count towels in and out, check for stains, restock to par. Missing or damaged towels can then be noted for any claims under your platform's rules. Clear systems keep costs down and quality consistent.
Refreshing linens
Plan to refresh rental towels regularly. Heavy turnover use wears towels faster than home use. Buying replacements in planned batches keeps all towels in a property looking the same.
Order timing
Order before peak rental season, allowing production, shipping and a first wash before guests arrive.
Ordering
Minimum 50 per design. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval. See wholesale towels and personalized beach towels for resorts and rentals.
