Personalized Beach Towels for Resorts, Rentals and Clubs
By The Velocity Wear Team
Personalized beach towels get about eight thousand US searches a month. Most shoppers want one towel with a name printed on it for a vacation, and a gift site is perfect for that. We don't print towels. But resorts, vacation rental companies, beach clubs and hotel pools buying in bulk have different needs, and an embroidered cotton towel usually serves them far better.
Printed velour vs embroidered cotton
Printed beach towels are usually velour or microfiber, which hold bright designs but absorb less and fade with repeated washing. Embroidered cotton terry absorbs better, survives commercial laundering and feels more luxurious. For a business, the cotton option wins over the life of the towel.
Size
Our bath sheet, about 35 × 71 in (90 × 180 cm) at 650 GSM, is a proper beach and pool towel size.
Who orders branded beach towels
- Resorts and hotels with pools or beach access.
- Vacation rental management companies.
- Beach clubs, cabanas and lake clubs.
- Country clubs and swim clubs.
- Cruise excursion and watersports operators.
Color strategy
Make pool towels a different color from room towels so guests don't take bath towels to the pool. Navy, turquoise and sand look coastal. Stripes are usually a special woven production; ask if you need them.
Branding
Embroider your resort or property name near the hem. Keep it elegant. Guests photograph pool towels, and a tasteful logo shows up on social media.
Managing loss
Pool towels disappear. Many resorts use a towel card or check-out system at the pool desk, or charge for unreturned towels as stated in their terms. A distinctive branded color makes towels easy to spot.
Care
Shake out sand, wash promptly to remove sunscreen and chlorine, and dry fully. Some sunscreens can leave yellow stains on cotton if left to set.
Mistakes to avoid
- 1Using the same color as room towels.
- 2Choosing printed velour for high-volume commercial laundering.
- 3Under-ordering for peak summer weekends.
- 4No tracking system for pool towels.
Quick checklist before you order
- Bath sheet size?
- Different color from room towels?
- Embroidered property name?
- Pool towel tracking plan?
- Enough stock for peak days?
Pool desk operations
Resorts with busy pools usually run a towel desk or self-serve cart. A towel card system, where guests exchange a card for a towel, reduces losses. At self-serve carts, clear signage and a distinct branded color help. Staff should restock regularly during peak hours and move used towels to laundry promptly to avoid mildew.
Beach clubs and cabana rentals
Beach clubs and cabana operators often include towels with rentals. A plush branded bath sheet elevates the experience compared with thin rental towels. Consider a slightly different design for cabana guests to signal a premium tier.
Selling towels in the gift shop
Guests who love the pool towels often want one to take home. A retail version of your resort towel, folded with a ribbon in the gift shop, becomes a souvenir. Price it as a premium keepsake and keep it visually identical to the pool towel so guests recognize it.
Seasonal planning
Order before the summer season, allowing production time plus shipping. Hold enough stock for peak weekends and holidays like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day, when towel demand spikes.
Condo and HOA pools
Some condo associations and HOAs provide pool towels as an amenity. Branded towels with the community name reinforce pride and make it clear towels belong to the pool.
Ordering
Minimum 50 per design. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval, plus shipping. Order well before summer. See wholesale towels and our vacation rental towels guide.
