How do you bag a cap without crushing it?
Give the crown room. A structured cap has a stiffened front panel, usually backed with buckram (a stiff, glued cotton mesh), that holds the crown upright, and a bag cut too shallow presses that panel in until it creases. The bag for a structured cap is sized to the cap as it sits, with depth for the crown and length for the brim, not to a cap squashed flat. An unstructured cap, often called a dad hat, has no stiffening and can be folded softer into a flatter bag.
Two packing habits help. Slide the cap in brim first so the crown sits clear of the zip track, and push out only the loose air rather than squeezing the bag flat before closing it. Which accessories suit a poly bag?
Most small accessories do, provided each bag is sized to the item as it will be packed. This is how the common ones usually go in, what the label on the bag should show, and where a shop tends to put them.

What goes on the label when there is no size?
Whatever a shopper or picker needs to tell two items apart. Most caps and beanies are one size, adjusted with a strap or snapback closure or simply stretching to fit, so a size sticker has nothing useful to say. A custom label with the colourway, the style name or your own reference does that job instead. Fitted caps are the exception: they are made in sizes and take a size sticker the way a garment does. Socks sit in between, with a shoe-size range such as UK 6–11 on the label.
Why does a hang hole matter more for accessories?
Because small items are the ones shops put on pegs. A beanie or a pair of socks disappears on a shelf between folded jumpers, but on a peg hook it hangs at eye level with the logo facing the aisle. Should accessories be bagged one per bag?
For anything sold singly, yes: one item per bag keeps the label accurate and the display tidy. Socks are the usual exception, often sold as several pairs in one bag sized to the stack, which is set out in bags for multipacks and bundles. Ordering bags for caps and accessories
