Bulk Jackets & Outerwear for Gyms: A Buyer's Guide

Gym outerwear splits two ways: something warm for staff who open the building at six, and something members will actually wear outside it. Jackets are quoted per job rather than listed at a from-price, because a softshell and a puffer are different garments. The minimum is fifty pieces per design, with sizes mixed as you like inside it.
Which jacket style suits a gym floor?
Softshell is the workhorse. It is warm enough for a cold reception desk, thin enough to coach in, and it takes embroidery cleanly. A puffer reads as merch more than uniform and sells better on a members rail than on the floor. How many jackets before staff and members are both covered?
Fifty pieces of one design is the floor, and a gym with eight staff has to think about that honestly. There are two workable answers: put staff and members in the same jacket and let the members rail carry the balance, or hold the staff version as one design of fifty and accept that it covers a couple of years of new starters. Sizes inside the fifty are free to mix, so a heavy XL bias costs nothing extra.
What does not work is two near-identical designs that each fall short of the fifty. Every design carries its own setup, so the minimum is counted per design rather than per order.
What happens to a printed jacket after fifty washes?
Decoration choice decides that. Embroidery on a softshell chest outlives the garment and looks right on staff. DTF holds fine detail on a coach jacket back panel. Screen printing suits flat cotton-faced shells rather than technical ones, and 3D puff belongs on a cap or a varsity chest rather than on a shell you want water to run off. How long does a gym order take?
Production runs 10–15 working days from the day artwork is approved, with delivery on top to the UK, USA or Europe. A £150 sample before that adds its own making time and is credited against the bulk invoice. A gym ordering for a January intake should have artwork signed off in November, not in the first week of the month it wants the jackets.
