Custom water bottle labels are stick-on paper or vinyl wraps, usually for single-use bottled water at weddings, events and hotels, or for a DIY finish on a shop-bought bottle. We do not make labels. We make insulated steel bottles with your logo printed to a matte finish flush with the powder coat, from 50 pieces per design, for when the bottle itself has to last.
What is the difference between a label and a printed logo?
A label is a separate layer stuck on top of the bottle; a printed logo becomes part of its surface. On a case of bottled water drunk by the end of the afternoon, a label is all you need. On a bottle that goes through a washing-up bowl every evening, adhesive and paper are the weak point: edges lift, water gets underneath, and the label peels. Our print sits level with the powder coat, the baked-on colour layer, so there is no edge to lift.
Which lasts longer, a sticker or a printed logo?
On a reusable bottle, the printed logo, because nothing separates it from the surface. The table compares the two on the points that decide how a branded bottle looks after months of use. The bottles themselves, with every cap and finish, are on our custom bottles page.
| Factor | Stick-on label or sticker | Printed logo on a steel bottle |
|---|---|---|
| What it goes on | Single-use bottled water, or a bottle you already own | An insulated steel bottle made to order |
| Durability | Paper soaks and tears; vinyl lasts longer but its edges lift | Printed flush with the powder coat, with no edge to lift |
| Washing | Repeated washing loosens the adhesive | Made to survive daily handling and washing |
| Look | A visible outline and a surface that differs from the bottle | Matte, and part of the surface |
| Reuse | Usually thrown away with the bottle | The bottle is reusable and the logo stays with it |
| Minimum and timing | Set by whichever label printer you use | 50 per design; 10–15 working days from approval |

When is a label the right answer?
When the bottle is single-use or already bought. Tables of bottled water at weddings and events, hotel minibars, a café's own bottled drinks and product sampling all suit labels, because the bottle's job is over by the evening. So does a one-off: a sticker on your own bottle is the home route for a handful of pieces. Label printers serve that need; it is not something we make.
How are custom water bottle labels made?
Labels are printed onto adhesive paper or vinyl, on sheets or rolls, and cut to shape; a label printer does it in quantity. That short process is why labels suit short-lived bottles. A printed steel bottle is made differently: the body is double-walled, vacuum insulated and powder coated, then the logo is printed onto the finished coat and checked against an approved proof. How custom water bottles are made follows each stage, and ordering beats improvising once you need 50 matching pieces.
Label ideas that work as a printed design
Most label ideas translate to a printed bottle once simplified. A wedding monogram and date, a venue name, a team crest, an event title, or a brand mark with a short line all print well. What does not translate is anything that changes bottle by bottle, such as a guest's name, because each separate logo or artwork counts as its own design with its own 50 pieces. Design ideas that print well has layouts, and wedding favour bottles covers the wedding version.
Anything that genuinely has to change, such as a batch number on a retail line, belongs on the box rather than the bottle: custom packaging runs from a branded gift box to retail-ready cartons. And a printed bottle needs no more than hand washing to keep it sharp, as caring for an insulated bottle explains.
Choosing print over labels
If a printed bottle is the better fit, send the logo, the number of bottles per finish, the cap, the delivery country and the date you need them through the enquiry form on this page, and Velocity Wear replies with pricing, usually within hours on a working day. To check a print in hand, one or two samples cost £150 with shipping, credited against the bulk order. See the printed bottle range and the complete buyer's guide.
