To clean an insulated water bottle, wash it by hand with warm, soapy water and a bottle brush, clean the lid and straw separately, rinse, and leave everything apart to air dry. Keep scourers and abrasive cleaners off the outside, because they dull the powder coat and wear the printed logo. Dishwasher use is not part of the published specification, so hand washing is the care to follow.
How often should an insulated bottle be washed?
Rinse it after every use and give it a proper wash every few days, or daily if it carries anything other than water. Squash, smoothies, coffee and protein shakes leave residue that water alone will not shift. A rinse and an uncapped overnight dry is the habit that keeps a bottle fresh.
Washing a stainless steel bottle, step by step
- 1Empty the bottle and take the lid off, opening the flip-straw if it has one.
- 2Half fill with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid, then scrub the inside walls and neck with a long-handled bottle brush.
- 3Wash the lid by hand, paying attention to the thread and the underside where it seals.
- 4Push a thin straw brush through the flip-straw, or run water through it until it runs clear.
- 5Rinse everything in clean water.
- 6Stand the bottle upside down with the lid beside it, and let both air dry before recapping.

What should never touch a printed bottle?
Anything abrasive. The colour is powder coat, a dry pigment baked onto the steel, and the logo is printed flush with it to a matte finish. It is made for daily handling and washing, but a scouring pad, wire wool, abrasive cream or a harsh solvent will dull the matte surface and can wear the print. Wipe the outside with a soft cloth and warm soapy water instead, and keep bleach away from it.

How do you get a smell out of an insulated bottle?
Soak it. Fill the bottle with warm water and a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda, leave it uncapped for a few hours or overnight, then brush and rinse. A splash of white vinegar in warm water does a similar job on tea and coffee staining. Rinse thoroughly afterwards and dry with the lid off. A smell usually means something was left capped inside, so the lasting fix is drying the bottle properly.
Does the logo wear off with washing?
Not with normal hand washing. The logo sits flush with the powder coat rather than standing proud of it, so there is no raised edge for a sponge or a bag strap to catch, and it is made to survive daily handling and washing. A care card to put in a gift box
