Custom water bottles come in eight finishes: matte black, matte white, navy, olive, stainless steel, red, pink and wood finish. Colours can be mixed within one order of 50 per design, so a run can be split across finishes, and the logo is printed to a matte finish flush with the powder coat. Choose the finish for your audience first, then the logo colour for contrast.

Which logo colour reads best on each finish?

Contrast decides it. Light logos go on dark finishes, dark logos on light ones, and a brand colour only where it stands clear of the background. The table sets out all eight, with the kind of buyer each one tends to suit.

What is the difference between matte, steel and wood finishes?

Most of the range is powder coated: a dry pigment baked onto the steel that leaves an even colour with a slight texture, which the printed logo sits flush with. Stainless steel is the exception in look, showing the metal itself, with a dark logo on top. Wood finish gives the bottle a wood-grain appearance and suits a darker logo. Every finish is shown on our custom water bottles page.

Which colour suits a matte black water bottle with a logo?

White is the safe answer, and a bright single brand colour is the bolder one. Matte black suits corporate and gym orders because it looks considered on a desk and hides the marks that daily handling leaves. A logo in white plus one accent colour also reads well, as long as the accent is bright enough to stand off the black. Navy and deep red logos on matte black tend to disappear.

Can you mix colours in one order?

Yes. Mixing bottle colours within an order is fine, so 50 bottles with one logo can be 25 navy and 25 olive, or ten each of five finishes. The limit is the artwork: each separate logo or artwork counts as its own design. So pick a logo colour that reads on every finish you choose. A white mark covers matte black, navy, olive, red and pink in one go; add matte white and you need a darker logo, which may count as a second version of the artwork, so confirm it on the quote.

Choosing a finish by audience

For a team, start from the club's primary colour; custom bottles for teams and gyms covers home and away splits. For a retail line, pick two or three finishes that look good together in a photograph, and starting a water bottle brand goes into colourways for resale. For corporate gifts, matte black, matte white and wood finish are a dependable trio, and the main bottle buyer's guide covers caps and packaging.

Does the finish wear?

The printed logo is made to survive daily handling and washing, because it sits flush with the powder coat rather than standing proud of it. Any finish will show marks after a hard knock on concrete, and darker finishes and stainless steel hide everyday scuffs better than matte white or pink. Dishwasher use is not part of the published specification, so do not print it on packaging or promise it to recipients.

Custom water bottles from Velocity Wear come in eight finishes: matte black, matte white, navy, olive, stainless steel, red, pink and wood finish. Colours can be mixed within one order of 50 per design, and the logo is printed to a matte finish that sits flush with the powder coat on the bottle.

White is the most legible logo colour on a matte black bottle, and a single bright brand colour also works if it stands clear of the black. Dark colours such as navy or deep red tend to disappear. A matte black bottle with a white logo suits corporate gifts, gyms and fashion brands.

A wood finish water bottle suits coffee, hospitality, craft and lifestyle brands that want a warmer, natural look than the matte colours give. A black or dark brown logo reads best on it. It is one of eight finishes on the insulated steel range and can be mixed with other finishes inside one design.

Different bottle colours with the same logo can be combined in one order, and the run still counts as one design for the 50-piece minimum. Choose a logo colour that reads on every finish you pick; a white logo, for example, works across matte black, navy, olive, red and pink.

The printed logo on a custom bottle is made to a matte finish that sits flush with the powder coat, so it survives daily handling and washing. A hard knock can still mark any finish. Dishwasher use is not part of the published specification, so check care details on the quote before promising them to anyone.
