50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

A salon towel sample is £150, credited back against your bulk order when you place it. It is produced to the specification you approve rather than pulled from stock, so it tells you how your weight, your colour and your branding behave together. For a salon the decisive test is chemical: put the sample near tint and developer for a fortnight before committing fifty pieces to the same recipe.

Why order a physical towel before the bulk run?

Because a towel is a tactile product and a screen cannot transmit weight, absorbency or pile height. Two towels described identically on paper can feel entirely different in the hand. The customer-facing consequence matters here: a client who is handed a thin towel at the basin registers it, even if they never mention it. Nothing in a mockup will tell you which side of that line your specification falls on.

There is a commercial argument as well. Towels are quoted per job rather than from a published per-piece price, and the quote is built against an agreed specification. A signed-off sample is what turns that specification from a description into an object. After that, everyone is talking about the same towel. Our wholesale towels page covers the specification choices, and the salons and barbers page puts them in trade context.

What should a salon test on a sample towel?

Run it through the working day rather than examining it on a desk. A fortnight of ordinary use will tell you more than an hour of inspection.

  1. 1Use it at the colour bar. Let it take the splashes it would take in service and see what the base colour does.
  2. 2Wash it at the temperature your machine actually runs, not the one on the care label, repeatedly.
  3. 3Check how fast it dries. A towel that needs a long cycle costs you time and cupboard space every day.
  4. 4Fold it the way your team folds towels and look at where the branding lands.
  5. 5Hand it to a client and watch whether they notice the weight.

A rendered image cannot answer any of those five questions, which is the point we make in AI mockups versus physical samples.

How many sample variations are worth paying for?

Each sample is charged at £150 in its own right, so the question is whether a genuine decision hangs on the comparison. If you are torn between two weights, order both and the choice makes itself. If you are torn between two shades of the same weight, one sample plus a colour reference is usually enough. If you already know the specification and only want reassurance, one sample is plenty.

What is not worth doing is sampling every permutation of size, colour and branding. The cost climbs quickly and the extra information tails off. Narrow the decisions on paper first, then sample the one or two that remain genuinely open.

What happens after the sample is approved?

Approval releases the run. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from that point, with delivery transit afterwards, and the £150 appears as a credit against the bulk invoice. The minimum stays at fifty pieces of the approved design, with sizes mixed as you like, and the per-piece rate steps down through the quantity bands to a maximum of 35% off the fifty-piece figure at the largest volumes.

Keep the approved sample. Seal it in a bag and leave it unused, because it becomes the reference for every repeat order you place afterwards. More on how salon towels behave over a long life is in wholesale towels for salons and spas.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about towels — answered.

It is credited against a bulk order rather than refunded. If you decide not to proceed, the £150 has paid for a towel that was made specifically to your specification.

Yes, and that is often the reason to order one. The sample is built to whatever specification you approve, so an unconfirmed colour is exactly the kind of question it settles.

Run them in parallel. Ordering the sample while you are still working out quantities means the two stages overlap rather than queue, which saves a week of calendar time.

If the weight and branding stay the same, usually not. A change of weight or branding method is a different product and is worth seeing before you commit fifty pieces.
