Swimming Club Towels: Poolside Towels for Swimmers and Galas
By The Velocity Wear Team
Swimming clubs are full of kit: caps, hoodies, poolside tops and towels. A club towel is one of the most practical items, used at every training session and gala, and it makes a squad look like a team on the poolside.
Size
Swimmers wrap up between races, so bigger is better. Our bath sheet, 90 × 180 cm, is ideal for older swimmers. The bath towel, 70 × 140 cm, suits juniors and packs more easily into swim bags.
Colours
Club colours make towels easy to spot on crowded poolsides and help swimmers find their own. Darker colours hide wear. Chlorine can gradually fade colours, so rinse towels after use.
Crest and names
An embroidered club crest near the hem is the standard. Names help avoid mix-ups in a busy changing room. Individual names on a club design keep the same minimum if the design is otherwise identical; ask when ordering.
Chlorine care
- Rinse towels in clean water after swimming.
- Don't leave wet towels in swim bags.
- Wash regularly without fabric softener.
- Dry thoroughly to avoid musty smells.
Galas and events
Towels make great gala souvenirs or awards for club championships. A special design with the event and year becomes a keepsake.
Fundraising
Club towels sell well to families, especially bundled with a club hoodie. Run a pre-order at the start of the season.
Safeguarding
If you add children's names, consider how kit is used in public places. Many clubs use initials or no names on items worn outside the club.
Quick checklist before you order
- Bath sheets for seniors, bath towels for juniors?
- Club colours?
- Crest file simplified for embroidery?
- Names, initials or none?
- Pre-order with a hoodie bundle?
Masters and adult sections
Adult and masters swimmers are often keen buyers of club kit, including towels. Many train early mornings before work and appreciate a quality bath sheet. Offer the same design in adult sizes and quantities.
Open water and triathlon clubs
Open water swimming and triathlon clubs use towels on beaches and lakesides, often in cold weather. A large bath sheet is essential, and many swimmers also use changing robes from specialist brands. A club towel in bright colours helps swimmers find their kit on a busy shoreline.
Gala hosting and volunteers
Clubs hosting galas rely on volunteers for timekeeping, judging and refreshments. A small towel or club tee for volunteers is a nice thank-you. Keep volunteer items distinct from swimmer kit.
Poolside etiquette
Remind swimmers to keep towels off walkways and to take them home after sessions. Lost property piles up quickly at pools, and branded, named towels are far more likely to be returned.
Budget and minimums
Towels have a 50-piece minimum per design. Most clubs reach that with a combined order across squads, or with a pre-order open to families and adult swimmers.
Coaches and teachers
Swimming teachers and coaches spend hours poolside. A club towel and hoodie in a distinct colour help parents find them and make the club look professional at galas.
Lost property
Branded towels are easier to return. Keep a lost property box and remind families at the end of each term.
Order timing
Order towels in time for the new season or a big gala, allowing production and delivery.
Ordering
Minimum 50 per design. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval. See wholesale towels and club hoodies.
