Spa clients judge quality through touch. A thin, rough towel on a treatment couch undoes the effect of calming music and scented candles. A thick, soft towel with a subtle logo does the opposite, and it's something clients mention.
Where spas use towels

Weight
Spas generally favour heavier towels for a plush feel. Our bath sheet is 650 GSM and bath towel 550 GSM. Heavier towels take longer to dry, so plan laundry capacity accordingly.
Colour coding
Many spas use colour to separate areas: white for treatments, a darker colour for pool and wet areas where chlorine, mud wraps or oils might mark towels. It also helps staff keep towels in the right place.
Oils and products
Massage oils can build up in cotton and cause odours or stiffness. Wash oily towels separately, use a suitable detergent, and follow care labels. Build-up is a laundry issue more than a towel issue.
Branding
Understated is the rule. Tonal embroidery on the dobby border, or a small woven label. A logo that shows when a towel is rolled in a basket adds a quiet luxury touch.
Presentation
How towels are folded or rolled matters. Consistent folds with logos facing out, neatly stacked or rolled, look intentional. Train staff on the house fold.
Hotel spas
Hotel spas often need towels distinct from guest room towels. A different colour or a spa-specific logo prevents mixing between departments and laundries.

Thermal suites and pools
Spas with saunas, steam rooms and pools use a lot of bath sheets. Heat and humidity mean towels are used and discarded quickly. Keep ample stock near thermal areas, use a separate colour, and provide clear towel return points to stop damp towels piling up in relaxation areas.
Robes and slippers
Spa days usually include robes and slippers, which are specialist items. Coordinate their colour with your towels so the whole experience looks consistent. White or a soft neutral is the safest shared palette.
Hotel spas and day guests
Hotel spas serving both residents and day guests can see big fluctuations. Plan towel stock for peak days like weekends, Mother's Day and pre-Christmas spa packages. Running out of towels in a spa is an experience-breaking moment.
Therapist feedback
Therapists handle towels all day. Ask them about size, weight and folding practicality before ordering. A towel that's too heavy can be awkward to drape during treatments.
Retail and gifting
Branded spa towels make lovely retail items and gift voucher add-ons. Package a hand towel with a spa product as a gift set at Christmas.
