Salon towels get about four hundred and eighty UK searches a month at zero keyword difficulty. Every salon owner knows the problem: towels come out of the wash with orange and pink blotches where bleach or colour touched them, and they look tired within weeks. Choosing the right towel, and being realistic about what any towel can do, saves money and keeps the salon looking premium.
Why towels get bleach spots
Hair bleach and peroxide developer strip dye from fabric just as they strip colour from hair. Standard reactive-dyed cotton towels are colourfast in the wash, but no normal dyed towel is immune to bleach. That's the chemistry, not a quality fault.

- White towels: bleach can't discolour them, but hair dye stains show, and they need to be kept very clean.

Client experience at the backwash
The backwash is where clients relax. A soft, warm, branded towel around the shoulders adds to the experience, and it's often where clients take a quick photo or video for social media. Keep backwash towels in perfect condition and move tired ones to the colour station.
Rotating towels between stations
As towels age, move them to less visible roles: from backwash to colour station, then to cleaning. It extends their useful life and keeps client-facing towels looking new.
