Personalised Bath Towels for Hotels, B&Bs and Airbnb Hosts
By The Velocity Wear Team
Personalised bath towels get about four hundred and eighty UK searches a month. For hotels, B&Bs, serviced apartments and short-let hosts, towels are one of the most tactile parts of a stay. Guests rarely praise good towels in reviews, but they absolutely mention bad ones.
Bath towel or bath sheet?
Our bath towel is 70 × 140 cm at 550 GSM, the standard for most hotels and short lets. Our bath sheet is 90 × 180 cm at 650 GSM, a more luxurious wrap-around size for boutique hotels and suites. Many properties provide one of each per guest.
Why white?
White towels are the hospitality standard for good reasons: they look clean, can be washed hot, and can be treated to remove stains. Coloured towels can work for boutique style, but they fade over many hot washes and are harder to match on reorders.
Branding
An embroidered logo or monogram near the hem, or a woven label, adds a boutique touch. For short-let hosts, your property name on the towel reinforces your brand in guests' photos. Keep it subtle: tonal or a single elegant thread colour.
Par levels
Hospitality uses par levels: how many sets of linen you hold per room. A common approach is three sets per room: one in use, one in the laundry, one on the shelf. Short-let hosts with fast turnovers may need more.
Laundering to keep them white
- Wash whites separately from colours.
- Use the right amount of detergent; too much makes towels stiff and grey.
- Skip fabric softener.
- Dry thoroughly but avoid over-drying on very high heat.
- Treat make-up and fake tan stains quickly.
Security
Branded towels are less tempting to take home and easier to identify. State your policy on missing items in booking terms if you charge for them.
Replacing old stock
Track when towels were bought and replace them before they look tired. Rotating new stock in gradually keeps quality consistent.
Quick checklist before you order
- Bath towel, bath sheet or both?
- White for hot washing?
- Embroidered logo or woven label?
- Three sets per room par level?
- Laundry process that keeps whites white?
Serviced apartments and aparthotels
Serviced apartments and aparthotels sit between hotels and holiday lets, often with weekly housekeeping. Guests staying longer need more towel changes. Plan par levels for stay length, and consider providing a spare set in each apartment so guests aren't left waiting for housekeeping.
Cleaning teams and changeovers
Give cleaning teams a clear towel standard: how many of each size per guest, how to fold, where to place them, and how to report stained or damaged towels. Consistency between changeovers is what guests notice.
Hotel retail
Guests who love a hotel's towels sometimes ask to buy them. A retail version in branded packaging at reception turns a guest comfort into an extra revenue line and a souvenir.
Stain management
Makeup, fake tan and hair dye are the main causes of towel write-offs. Dark makeup removal cloths in bathrooms help protect white towels. Treat stains before washing rather than after.
Guest expectations by property type
Luxury hotels are expected to provide bath sheets; budget properties bath towels. Match your towels to your price point and reviews will follow.
Ordering
Bath towels start from £8 each including branding. The minimum is 50 per design. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval. See wholesale towels and our hotel towels buyer's guide.
