Wholesale Hotel Towels for Boutique and Independent Hotels
By The Velocity Wear Team
Boutique and independent hotels don't have the purchasing power of the big chains, but they have something more valuable: the freedom to make every detail feel special. Towels are a daily, tactile part of a stay, and guests notice when they're exceptional.
Standard hotel towel set
- Bath sheet: about 35 × 71 in (90 × 180 cm), 650 GSM, for suites and luxury rooms.
- Bath towel: about 28 × 55 in (70 × 140 cm), 550 GSM.
- Hand towel: about 18 × 30 in (45 × 75 cm), 500 GSM.
- Washcloth-size face towel: about 16 × 24 in (40 × 60 cm), 450 GSM.
White is standard for a reason
White towels can be washed hot, stains can be treated, and they read as clean. Boutique hotels with a signature color can use it for pool or spa towels instead.
Branding
Tonal embroidery on a dobby border, or a woven label, suits boutique style. A monogram or crest adds signature. See monogram vs logo.
Par levels
Most hotels hold about three par per room: in use, in laundry, on the shelf. Add stock for pools, spas and losses.
Work with your laundry
Share your towel specs with your laundry partner. Heavier towels can take longer to dry and cost more if billed by weight. Confirm branded towels are returned to you, not mixed with pool linen.
Replacement and consistency
Plan replacement in batches and keep a retained sample and written spec so reorders match. Mixed-age towels in one room look inconsistent.
Cost per use
The cheapest towel isn't cheapest if it thins or grays quickly. Divide purchase price by expected washes to compare fairly.
Quick checklist before you order
- Full set specified by size and GSM?
- White for rooms, color for pool or spa?
- Tonal embroidery or woven label?
- Three par per room plus extras?
- Laundry partner consulted?
Opening or renovating a property
New hotels and renovations need linens well before opening. Include towels in your opening supplies timeline with production time, shipping, and time to wash new towels before guest use. New towels release lint and absorb better after a first wash.
Guest amenities and retail
Boutique hotels increasingly sell signature amenities like robes, candles, bath products and towels. A retail version of your guest towel in branded packaging in the lobby shop lets guests take the experience home.
Spa and pool areas
Hotels with spas and pools should use different towel colors or designs for those areas, so housekeeping and laundry can separate them. It also helps control losses from pool areas.
Sustainability programs
Many hotels invite guests to reuse towels to reduce laundry. If you run such a program, make the message clear and honest about the purpose. Durable towels that last many washes also reduce replacement frequency.
Working with housekeeping
Housekeeping teams handle towels every day. Ask them about folding standards, stain problems and whether certain sizes are awkward. Their feedback on a sample before a big order is invaluable.
Reorder cadence
Track par levels monthly and reorder when stock falls below target, with enough lead time for production and shipping. Avoid running so low that housekeeping mixes old and new stock in the same room.
Samples
Always test samples through your laundry before a full order.
Ordering
Minimum 50 per design. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval, plus shipping. See wholesale towels and our custom hotel towels buyer's guide.
