For a May or June delivery, order in March or early April. The build is 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval, transit sits behind it, and spring is when everybody else is placing their summer orders too. A denim jacket does belong at a summer event, provided you choose the lighter cloth and design for an evening rather than an afternoon.

What is the cut-off for a May or June delivery?

Work back from the first date you need stock, not the event itself. Subtract transit to wherever it is landing, then three working weeks for the build at worst, then the artwork and approval stage in front of that. A May delivery survives a late March order. A June delivery survives an April one. Beyond that you are relying on nothing going wrong, which is a poor plan for an outdoor season.

The from-price and specification are on the wholesale denim jackets page, which is the quickest way to get a number in front of whoever holds the budget.

Does a denim jacket even work at a summer event?

Yes, but for the second half of the day. Nobody buys a jacket at two in the afternoon in July. They buy one at nine in the evening when the temperature drops and they are still on site. That is the entire commercial case for denim at a festival or an outdoor show, and it means the jacket has to be light enough to carry around all day before it gets worn.

Choose a washed midweight denim rather than a rigid heavyweight. It packs down, it does not feel oppressive over a t-shirt, and the softer hand suits being tied around a waist for hours. Keep the palette on the lighter side of indigo too, because a very dark jacket reads as autumn on a merch table.

How do you split fifty jackets across a run of dates?

Fifty is the minimum per design and sizes mix freely inside it, which means a summer run is really a question of how many dates the fifty has to cover. Spreading them thinly across six events leaves every site with a handful of sizes and no depth. Concentrating them on the two or three biggest dates sells more jackets and looks less like an afterthought.

If the season is genuinely large, the tiers reward committing early: 50 to 99, 100 to 249, 250 to 499, 500 to 999 and 1,000 or more, with up to 35% off the fifty-piece price at the top. A sample at £150, credited against the bulk order, is worth taking before a multi-date commitment, and the samples page explains that stage.

What should the artwork avoid on a summer run?

Anything that dates the jacket to a single weekend. A specific year or a single venue name turns the jacket into leftover stock the following month, whereas a design built around the act or the brand keeps selling. Large solid back prints also show sun-fade unevenly if the jacket lives outdoors, so a patch or an embroidered mark tends to age better than a heavy ink block. Placement options for each panel are covered in print placement on denim jackets, and private label details are in neck labels on wholesale denim jackets.

Plan for weather that does not cooperate. An outdoor season in the UK can deliver a cold weekend in June and a warm one in September, and jackets sell in direct proportion to how uncomfortable people are. Ordering a single midweight design rather than splitting across two weights keeps you flexible, because one jacket that works across the whole range of conditions beats two that each work half the time and tie up two lots of fifty.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about denim — answered.

Not in the evening, which is when the jackets sell. Choosing a lighter washed denim rather than a rigid heavyweight keeps the garment carryable through the day and wearable once the sun goes down.

Yes, and it is usually the better plan. One design over fifty pieces keeps you at the minimum, while a per-event design multiplies the fifty-piece requirement for each one.

Up to the approval email and no later. Production begins from that point, and the screens, embroidery files and patches are all produced against the approved artwork.

A jacket without a date or a venue on it will. That is the main argument for keeping event-specific detail off the garment and on the packaging or swing tag instead.
