Which denim weight should a brand choose?
Choose by season and by how much decoration the jacket has to carry. Denim weight is quoted in ounces per square yard of cloth, so 8 oz is light and almost shirt-like while 14 oz feels stiff and substantial from the first wear. Lighter weights layer easily, suit spring and early autumn, and take a chest mark comfortably. Heavier weights hold a boxy shape, feel warmer and carry a large back piece without the panel sagging.

Which wash suits your logo?
Pick the wash for the look, then set thread colours against it. Raw denim is unwashed: dark, stiff, deep indigo. A rinse is a single wash that softens the cloth but keeps it dark. Stonewash gives a softer hand and a lighter, mottled blue; vintage finishes imitate years of wear; acid effects give a marbled bleach look. White thread pops on raw but nearly vanishes on pale acid. How much do custom denim jackets cost?
