Delivery is added to the 10 to 15 working day production window, not included in it. Jackets ship to the UK, USA and Europe, and the transit time depends on the destination and the method rather than on the garment. Outerwear is bulky, so a jacket shipment takes more cartons than the same piece count in t-shirts and that is what tends to surprise first-time buyers.

How long does delivery take after production?

The honest answer is that it depends on where the boxes are going and how fast you want them there, which is why it is quoted with the job rather than promised as a single number. What you can plan around is the shape: production finishes on a known date, the shipment leaves, and the transit runs from there. UK deliveries are the shortest leg. European destinations add customs handling depending on the country. Shipments to the USA are the longest of the three and the most sensitive to the method you choose. Ask for the transit estimate at quote stage and write it into your own plan rather than assuming.

What makes an outerwear carton bulky?

Air, mostly. A padded jacket is largely loft, and loft does not compress usefully inside a carton, so volumetric weight rather than actual weight is what the freight is priced on. Fifty puffers take considerably more space than fifty softshells, and both take far more than fifty tees. This matters for two reasons: it affects the shipping cost, and it affects where you are going to put the boxes when they land. Measure the storage before the delivery arrives, particularly if the jackets are going to an office rather than a warehouse.

Who handles duty and import paperwork?

This is worth settling in writing before the order is placed rather than discovering at the border. Establish who is the importer of record, which incoterms the quote is based on, and whether duty and any import taxes are included in the figure you were given or payable on arrival. A shipment held at customs because nobody expected a charge can cost more days than the entire build took. Invoicing is available in seven currencies, which removes one variable from the sums. The wider logistics thinking for a brand shipping onward to customers is in building a shipping strategy for apparel ecommerce.

How do you plan a date you can promise?

Count backwards and leave slack. Start at the date the jackets must be in hand, subtract the transit estimate for your destination, subtract 15 working days for the build, and subtract a further week for artwork and approval. That is your order date. Then move it a week earlier, because weather, customs and public holidays are all real and none of them care about your launch. Winter freight in particular runs slower than the rest of the year, as getting stock into Canada illustrates for one market. Order details and the styles available are on the wholesale jackets page, and quantity bands are on the pricing page.

Can a shipment be split across destinations?

Usually, and it is often worth doing for a group spread across several sites. Splitting means more shipments and therefore more freight cost, so it is a convenience decision rather than a saving. If you are splitting, decide the allocation before production finishes so the cartons can be packed by destination rather than sorted afterwards, which is the kind of small instruction that saves a day at your end.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about workwear — answered.

No. That window covers production only, measured from artwork approval. Transit to the UK, USA or Europe is added afterwards and is quoted with the job.

Outerwear is bulky rather than heavy, and padded styles especially. Freight is priced on the space the cartons take up, so fifty jackets need far more room than the same count of lighter garments.

Invoicing is available in seven currencies, which lets you pay in the one your business actually banks in and removes a conversion step from the accounting.

Yes, though each destination is a separate shipment with its own freight cost. Confirm the split before production ends so the cartons are packed by destination rather than needing to be re-sorted on arrival.
