Minimum Order for Wholesale Hoodies
By The Velocity Wear Team
The minimum order for wholesale hoodies is 50 pieces per design, from $31 a piece. Sizes mix freely inside that 50 at no extra cost. What does not mix is designs and colourways: each one is counted and priced as its own run of 50, because each needs its own setup. A run is made in 10 to 15 working days once the artwork is signed off.
What counts as one design?
One garment style, in one colour, carrying one set of artwork. Within that, you can vary quite a lot without creating a second design. Multiple print positions on the same garment are still one design, so a chest logo plus a back graphic is a single run. Personalised elements, a name or a number applied per garment on top of otherwise identical artwork, are still one design too. What creates a second design is a change to the garment colour, to the base artwork itself, or to the wording that every piece carries. A staff version reading MANAGER and a general version reading nothing are two designs and therefore two lots of 50.

Can you really mix every size inside the 50?
Yes, and there is no charge or penalty for doing it. The 50 can be spread across the full size range in whatever proportions you like, and most buyers weight it towards the middle. There is no minimum per size either, so a single XXS and a single 3XL inside a run of 50 is fine. The only practical caution is that an uneven curve is harder to correct later, because correcting it means another 50 pieces. Collect real sizes where you can rather than working from a template.
One thing the 50 does not have to cover is a single fit. Classic and oversized are cut differently, and a buyer who wants both is specifying two garments rather than two sizes, so that is a second run. The workaround most buyers use is to order one fit and let people size up or down within it, which is free, rather than splitting a budget across two runs of 50.
What about a second colour, and why does it count separately?
Because it is a different garment going through a different setup. Screens have to be prepared for the ink colours that work on that base, and the ink behaves differently on a black hoodie than on a heather grey one. So a design offered in two colours is a 100-piece commitment, not a 50-piece one split down the middle. This is the single most common surprise in a first order. If your budget is fixed, one colour in a better fabric almost always beats two colours in a lighter one.
What if you only need 30?
You still order 50, and the question becomes what the other 20 are for. Joiner stock, replacements, a rail for sale, or gifts. Buyers who plan that use in advance get value from the surplus; buyers who do not end up with a box. The other route is to combine: two departments, two teams or two sites agreeing on one design turns two impossible orders into one comfortable one, and it reaches a better quantity tier as well, with the discount running to as much as 35% off the 50-piece rate. Tier detail is on the pricing page, and the garment options are on the wholesale hoodies page.
If you are weighing a made-to-order run against buying stock blanks, the trade-offs are laid out in blank hoodies UK versus made to order.
