Wholesale Hoodies for Gyms
By The Velocity Wear Team
Wholesale hoodies for a gym start at $31 a piece at our 50-piece minimum, and those 50 can be split across any mix of sizes you like. Most gyms run the order as one design worn by coaching staff and sold at the front desk, because two separate designs means two separate runs of 50. Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval.
What does a gym hoodie order actually cost?
The from-price is $31 per piece at 50 units, and it falls as the quantity rises, up to 35% off that 50-piece rate in the largest tier. The steps sit at 50 to 99, 100 to 249, 250 to 499, 500 to 999 and 1,000 plus. A single studio ordering 50 pays the entry rate. A group kitting out five sites in one purchase order drops two tiers on the same garment, which is usually the argument for buying once a year rather than four times. Current from-prices sit on the wholesale hoodies page, and the rest of the kit list a gym tends to buy alongside them is on the gyms and fitness page.

Which weight survives a staff wash cycle?
A coach wears the same hoodie four or five shifts a week and it goes in the machine after most of them. That is a harder life than a hoodie sold to a member, who might wash it twice a month. Our fleece runs from 280 to 450 GSM with a brushed back, and the honest split is this: 280 to 320 is comfortable indoors and dries fast, 350 upwards holds its shape through repeated hot washes and resists the cuff stretch that makes old staff kit look tired. If the hoodie is worn over a wet session top, go heavier. The trade-off is that a 450 GSM piece is warm for a heated studio floor.
Fit is the second decision and it is independent of weight. Classic fits suit staff kit that has to look tidy on a shop floor. Oversized reads as merch and sells better at the counter. If you want the weight question separated from the fabric question, choosing fabric for wholesale hoodies goes through it properly.
How do you split 50 pieces between staff and members?
The minimum counts per design, not per person, so the cleanest approach for a gym under about 200 members is one design used both ways. Eight coaches take a hoodie each, the remaining 42 go on a rail by reception. Sizes inside that 50 are yours to set, and the curve for a gym skews larger than retail because members buy to train in and to layer over kit.
- Staff allocation first, at two per coach if they work most days.
- A member curve weighted to M and L, with a handful of XS and XXL.
- Five or six held back, because someone always asks after the rail is empty.
What decoration holds up in a gym?
Embroidery is the safest choice for a small left-chest mark on staff kit, because it cannot crack and it survives hot washing indefinitely. Screen printing is right for a large back print on member merch and gets cheaper per piece as the run grows. Three-dimensional puff suits a bold single-colour logo. DTF handles gradients and photographic artwork that screens cannot reproduce cleanly. Whichever you pick, keep the print off the seam line under the arm, where sweat and friction concentrate.
