Bulk hoodies can carry a custom woven neck label, a printed tear-out label, a swing tag and branded packaging, in any combination. Woven labels are stitched into the neck seam during making, so they are decided before production rather than added afterwards. Tags and bags are a finishing step. All of it sits inside the same 10 to 15 working day build.

Which label goes inside the neck?

There are three routes. A woven label is a small jacquard-woven tape with your name on it, folded and stitched into the neck seam. It feels like a label from a shop garment because it is made the same way. A printed tear-out label is printed on a soft satin strip with a perforation, so the wearer can remove it if it irritates. A neck print puts your mark straight on the fabric with no tape at all, which is the flattest option and the one most streetwear uses.

Woven is the one to choose if the hoodie is being sold under your own name. It survives washing indefinitely, it carries a logo at small scale better than print does, and it is the difference between a branded garment and a decorated blank. Specify it when you set the garment up through the wholesale hoodies page.

What has to be on a care label?

Separate from your branding, a garment sold to the public needs fibre composition, care symbols and country of origin, and in most markets the information has to be attached to the garment rather than printed on the bag. That is normally a second, narrower label stitched into a side seam, which keeps the neck clean for your brand mark.

Get the composition right at spec stage. A 280 GSM loopback and a 450 GSM brushed fleece may have different blends, so the care label is not automatically transferable between two hoodies in your range. The wider requirements are covered in care labels and clothing compliance.

How do bulk hoodies arrive?

The default is individually folded, poly bagged and cartoned, with sizes grouped and marked on the outside of each carton so you are not opening boxes to find a medium. Heavy fleece is bulky, so a 50-piece hoodie order is several cartons rather than one, and a 500-piece order is a pallet.

From there you can add branded polythene bags, a swing tag on a string or a pin, tissue, or a printed sticker sealing the bag. If you are shipping direct to customers, ask for the retail packaging to be finished in the factory so the garment arrives ready to post. If it is going to a stockroom, plain bags and a clear carton label are usually more useful. The wider set of options is in branding beyond the print.

Does private label change the cost or the schedule?

Labels and tags are quoted per job rather than carrying a from-price, because the cost depends on the weave, the size and the quantity of tape being made. What is worth knowing is that label minimums are usually much higher than 50 pieces and the unit cost is tiny, so the sensible move is to order tape for a year across every hoodie design you run rather than per order.

On schedule, woven tape has its own lead time and it has to be in the building before making starts. Approve the label artwork at the same time as the garment artwork and it costs you nothing; approve it two weeks later and it becomes the thing holding up the run. Garment pricing and the volume tiers are on the pricing page, where the reduction reaches up to 35% at the highest quantities.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about custom hoodies — answered.

We build to order rather than relabelling stock blanks, so there is no original label to remove. The neck is finished with your label from the start, which is cleaner and avoids the visible stitch holes relabelling leaves.

Most sit between 25mm and 40mm wide. Weave resolution is limited, so a label with a strapline under a logo often loses the strapline. Simplify the artwork to the mark and the name.

Yes, and it is the usual approach. One tape design across the whole range keeps the unit cost down and means you are not holding six part-used rolls of tape at the end of a season.

They can be, on a string or a plastic pin, and having it done there saves a long afternoon later. Tell us at order stage, because it changes how the garments are bagged.
