How do you fold a hoodie to fit a poly bag?
Fold it into an even rectangle with the hood's bulk spread out, not bunched at one end. A consistent fold matters as much as the bag, because the bag is sized to it. A method that works for most hoodies and sweatshirts:
- 1Lay the hoodie face down and smooth the back flat.
- 2Fold each sleeve across the back, cuffs pointing down.
- 3Fold the sides in to the width you want, ideally around a folding board.
- 4Lay the hood flat onto the back instead of leaving it standing up behind the neck.
- 5Fold the body in half or in thirds from the hem up, depending on the bag you are working to.
- 6Turn it over so the chest print or logo faces the front of the bag and shows behind the frosted film.

Why does the zip seal matter more on heavy garments?
A zip seal, the pair of interlocking plastic tracks that press shut along the top of the bag, holds best when it closes without tension. A heavyweight hoodie that fills its bag to the brim pulls on those tracks whenever the bag is lifted or stacked, and a seal under constant strain can work open. The answer is clearance. Where should the size sticker go on a bulky bag?
