50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

Reordering gym hoodies is a fresh production run, not a copy of the last one. The 50-piece minimum applies again per design, prices still start at $31 a piece, and the 10 to 15 working day lead time starts from artwork approval as before. What changes is that we already hold your files, so approval is usually same-day rather than a week of back and forth.

How soon should a gym place the second run?

Gym kit wears out on a predictable curve. Staff hoodies are on a body six days a week and go through a wash every second day, so a front-desk team of twelve will visibly thin a batch inside a year. Member merch behaves differently: it sells in bursts around January, a rebrand or a competition, then sits. Track which of the two is running low, because they rarely need restocking at the same moment.

The practical rule is to reorder when you are down to about a fifth of the batch, not when the shelf is empty. That leaves room for the 10 to 15 working days plus transit without a gap where new starters have nothing to wear. Our wholesale hoodies page lists what is currently available in each weight, and the gyms and fitness page covers the rest of the kit list you may want to bundle into the same run.

Staff hoodies take the heaviest wash cycle, so they are usually the first thing a gym reorders.

Will the second run match the first one?

Close, but not identically. Fleece is dyed in lots and two lots of the same black will differ slightly under gym lighting, more so on mid greys and any saturated colour. Embroidery repeats almost exactly because the thread reference is fixed. Screen print repeats well when the ink is a named reference rather than a rough approximation of your brand colour.

If an exact match matters, the honest answer is to order both runs at once and warehouse the second. If it does not, the usual fix is to treat each run as a version: staff wear the current batch and the older pieces go to cover stock or trial classes. We go into the mechanics of repeat orders in more depth in can I reorder the same design later.

Does the 50-piece minimum start again?

Yes. Fifty pieces per design, every time, with sizes mixed however you like inside that fifty. A staff hoodie and a member hoodie are two designs unless the artwork is genuinely identical, so a gym that wants twenty more of each is looking at two runs of fifty, not one run of forty.

That is usually the moment to consolidate. Rather than repeating a small design twice a year, gyms tend to move to one run a year at a higher tier, because the volume discount reaches up to 35% as quantity climbs through the 50 to 99, 100 to 249, 250 to 499, 500 to 999 and 1,000 plus bands. Two separate runs of fifty sit at the top of the price list twice.

What should you keep on file between runs?

  • The exact garment: weight in GSM anywhere between 280 and 450, the fit, and whether it was classic or oversized.
  • The colour reference for the fleece and for every ink or thread used.
  • Print placement measured from the neck seam, not described as chest or centre.
  • The size split you actually ran, and which sizes were left over at the end.

That last line is the one gyms skip and regret. A size split that left you with eleven unsold smalls is data, and the next run should be weighted away from them. If you need a structured way to think about it, apparel sizing and fit walks through building a size run that reflects who actually wears the kit.

Send that file with the reorder and the approval step collapses to a confirmation. Send a photo of an old hoodie and a rough description instead, and you have effectively started a new order.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about custom hoodies — answered.

Not usually. If the garment, colour and artwork are unchanged we work from the approved files. A new sample at £150 makes sense if you are changing weight, fit or colour, and that fee is credited against the bulk order.

You can, but each colourway that needs its own screens counts as a separate design against the 50-piece minimum. Two colourways means 100 pieces in total, split however you like across sizes.

Ten to fifteen working days from artwork approval, plus delivery transit. Because the files already exist, approval on a genuine repeat is often the same day you ask for it, which is where reorders save time rather than in production.

The from-price of $31 per piece at fifty is the starting point, and your unit price depends on the quantity band you land in. Ordering more in one run costs less per piece than splitting the same total across two runs.
