50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

A wholesale denim jacket quote has three moving parts: the garment price, which starts at $38 a piece at our fifty-piece minimum, the decoration charged on top of it, and the one-off costs such as the £150 sample. Read those three separately. Most confusion on a denim quote comes from treating one total as though everything discussed on the call is already inside it.

What does the per-piece line on the quote cover?

The unit figure is the made jacket: cut and sewn in the denim you specified, in your colourway, with your labels fitted if you asked for them. Our wholesale denim jackets page carries the from-price of $38 at fifty pieces, and that figure assumes one design. Washed denim and rigid denim quoted side by side will not carry the same number, because the wash is a finishing process run before the jacket is made up.

So check which denim the quote actually names. Rigid denim arrives stiff and dark and breaks in on the wearer over a few months. Washed denim is softened and faded before it ships, so the sample is close to what the wearer sees on day one. Both are quoted per piece; the difference sits in the finishing, not the sewing.

The unit price on a quote is the made garment before any decoration.

Which items sit outside the unit price?

Decoration is quoted on its own because it depends entirely on your artwork. Embroidery is priced against stitch count and position, patches are made and then applied, and a print is priced by the number of colours and placements. A small chest logo and a full back panel are two different jobs on the same garment, even if they use the same file.

  • The £150 sample, credited against the bulk order once you proceed.
  • Private label work: woven neck labels, tear-out labels, swing tags and packaging.
  • Delivery to the UK, USA or Europe, which is driven by weight and destination rather than by the garment.
  • Any second colourway, which counts as its own fifty because it needs its own screens.

How does the quantity tier change the figure you are reading?

A quote is written against a quantity, so the per-piece number only means something next to the number of jackets it assumes. Tiers run 50–99, 100–249, 250–499, 500–999 and 1,000 upwards, and the discount grows with them to a ceiling of 35% measured from the fifty-piece price. If you are weighing two quantities, ask for both quoted rather than scaling the first figure in a spreadsheet. The pricing page sets out how the tiers behave.

Ask for the next tier as a total, not only as a rate. The gap between ninety jackets and a hundred is sometimes small enough that the extra stock effectively pays for itself, and that arithmetic is easier to see in cash than in percentages. We walk through it in budgeting a bulk denim jacket order.

What should you ask before approving it?

Four questions clear up nearly every quote. Which denim and which wash? Which decoration method on which placement, at what size? What is the delivered quantity and which tier does it sit in? And what is the total including delivery to your address, in the currency you will be invoiced in — we invoice in seven.

Once you approve artwork the production clock starts and runs 10 to 15 working days before delivery transit, so approve when you are genuinely finished rather than to keep things moving. If denim is new to you, the background in custom denim jackets wholesale is worth a read before you sign anything off.

One last habit worth forming: compare two quotes at the same quantity, the same denim and the same decoration, or you are not comparing anything. A figure that looks lower because it assumes a hundred jackets, a rigid fabric and a single small print is not a better offer than a figure that assumes fifty washed jackets with stitch on two positions. Ask each supplier to restate the quote against the identical brief, and the differences that remain are the ones that actually matter. It takes an email and it removes the argument you would otherwise have with yourself two weeks later.

Common questions about denim — answered.

Delivery is listed separately, because it depends on the weight of the shipment and whether it is going to the UK, the USA or Europe. Ask for the delivered total so you are comparing like with like.

The £150 is credited against a bulk order rather than refunded as cash. If you proceed, it comes off the invoice; if you do not, you keep the jacket you paid to have made.

The minimum is per design, and a colourway that needs its own screens counts as a separate design. Two colours of the same jacket are therefore two runs of fifty, not one run of a hundred.

Yes. Sizes are free to mix however you like inside the fifty pieces, so a single design can run from extra small to triple extra large without affecting the minimum or the tier you sit in.
