Which labels go on a custom denim jacket?

What is a pocket flag label, and is it worth adding?
A pocket flag is a small woven tab folded in half and caught in the seam at the edge of a chest pocket, so a short length sticks out. It puts the brand on the outside of the jacket without a chest logo and is seen every time the jacket is worn, which suits boutique and own-label stock where a front logo would feel loud.
One caution: a coloured tab in a pocket seam is protected as a trademark by one of the big jeans brands. Before copying that exact look, change the position, shape or colour of your flag, and take advice if the jackets will be sold widely. How should a woven neck label be designed?
Simply, and at the size it will be sewn. A logo, the brand name and a size are plenty, and a wider label can take a short line of brand copy, as the one pictured does. Do denim jackets sold in shops need a care label?
In practice, yes. Garments sold in the UK and EU must state their fibre content, and in the US the rules add care instructions and country of origin, so a care label is standard on any jacket going on sale. The wording follows from the denim you specify and is agreed with the rest of the label artwork. If you sell into several markets, check each one's rules before approving the proof.
What does private label denim include?
