The rule that shapes all of these is one design per group. A leavers bottle printed with 'Class of 2027' is one design; the same bottle with each leaver's name is dozens. Which lid should younger pupils have?
The flip-straw, for most primary-age children. There is no cap to unscrew, lose or drop at break time, and a straw is easier to drink from on the move. Older pupils and staff can manage any of the three: the carry-handle suits anyone walking out to a playing field or between sites, and the steel cap looks tidiest as a staff or leavers gift. Insulated steel does weigh more than a plastic bottle, which matters for the very youngest.

Work from the term calendar rather than the month.
