50-piece minimum · Mixed sizes · We never share your details

School tracksuits are $53 per set at the 50-piece minimum, where a set is a hooded top with its matching jogger. A single year group usually clears 50 without difficulty, which makes the sums straightforward. The parts that need managing are the name list, the payment collection and the term date, and all three want settling before artwork goes for approval.

Unlike most buyers, a school knows exactly how many people it is ordering for and exactly when they need it. That certainty is worth using. The wholesale tracksuits page covers the garment, and the schools and leavers page covers the rest of what a year group typically orders alongside it.

How does the minimum work for a year group?

A cohort of 50 or more clears it on its own. A smaller cohort has options: open the order to staff, combine two year groups on one design, or include siblings and parents who want the set. What does not work is splitting a small cohort across two designs, because each design carries its own 50 and a school that runs a separate version per form group multiplies the commitment rather than the choice.

What do names and lists add to the job?

A name list printed on the garment is one shared design and behaves like any other artwork: everybody gets the same thing, and it has to be finalised before approval because a late addition means a changed design. Individual names are different. A name unique to each garment is per-piece decoration, a separate kind of job from printing one design 50 times, and the deadline for the list becomes immovable as a result.

How do you fit this around fixed term dates?

  1. 1Fix the date the sets must be in school, which for leavers is usually well before the last day of term.
  2. 2Subtract delivery transit to the school address, allowing for the site being closed in holidays.
  3. 3Subtract the 10 to 15 working day production window from artwork approval.
  4. 4Subtract the time it takes to collect names, sizes and payments, which is the longest step by far.

The approach in autumn term apparel planning works through the same calendar problem in more detail, and it applies equally to a summer leavers order run backwards from the final week.

Who signs off the colours?

Decide that before you start, because a colour decision reopened after artwork approval costs the whole production window. Most schools settle it with a small group: a member of staff who owns the order, a student representative if it is a leavers set, and whoever holds the budget. A £150 sample, credited against the bulk order, gives that group something physical to agree on, which is considerably faster than circulating a rendering. The matching considerations across the two halves of a set are covered in the custom tracksuits buyer's guide.

Sizing a cohort is easier than sizing most groups, because a school can measure rather than survey. An afternoon with a size set, or one sample passed round a form group, converts the curve from estimate to record. Do it before the payment deadline rather than after, since a student who has paid for the wrong size is not a problem the production run can solve. Note the split for the top and the jogger separately, as a set is specified in two halves and teenagers in particular often need different sizes for each. That record then serves the following year group too.

FAQ

Quick Answers

Common questions about wholesale — answered.

The order is placed as one run of at least 50 sets. Schools usually collect payments and sizes centrally first, then place a single order against the final list.

Yes. A shared name list is one design applied to every set, so it does not change the minimum. It does mean the list has to be final before artwork approval.

Late additions cannot join a run already in production. Ordering a small number of spare sets in the common sizes is the usual way schools cover that.

Allow 10 to 15 working days of production from artwork approval plus transit, and then add the weeks it takes to collect names, sizes and payments from a cohort.
