Bring fewer designs in greater depth, weight your size spread towards the middle of the range, and let people touch the product. In-person selling gives you something online never will — immediate, honest feedback on your garment from people holding it.

The Real Value of Selling in Person

Revenue is only part of the point. At a stall you watch people pick things up, see which design stops them, hear what they ask about, and learn whether the fabric feels the way you claim it does. That information is difficult and expensive to gather online, where all you see is whether someone bought. For a new brand, a day at a market can reshape the next order more usefully than a month of analytics.

What Stock to Bring

Depth beats breadth, and this is more true in person than online.

  • Fewer designs, more of each. A stall with three designs in full size coverage sells better than one with ten designs missing half the sizes.
  • Weight sizes towards the middle of the range — the extremes sell more slowly and tie up stock you have carried there.
  • Bring a size range you can actually display. Customers who cannot find their size do not wait; they move on.
  • Include one low-price item such as a beanie or tote, which captures people who like the brand but will not spend on a hoodie today.

Let People Touch It

This is the single largest advantage of a physical stall and the one most often wasted by neat, untouchable displays. Fabric weight and print quality are tactile, and a good garment sells itself the moment someone handles it. Hang things where they can be reached, have at least one of each design out of any packaging, and encourage people to feel it. If your product is genuinely well made, this is where that investment pays off.

“"Online you have to describe the fabric. At a market you just hand it to them."”

Presentation and Pricing

Price everything visibly — unpriced stock costs you the customers who will not ask. Keep the display uncluttered enough that individual pieces are distinguishable. Have a mirror if you can, because trying something against yourself converts far better than imagining it. And take card payments; cash-only stalls lose sales that would otherwise have happened.

Ordering for an Event

Work backwards from the date. Production runs around 10–15 working days from artwork approval for screen printing and embroidery, or nearer 15–20 for sublimation and complex jobs, plus 2–5 working days tracked UK delivery — and event dates do not move. Order with enough margin to check the stock on arrival and reprint if something is wrong.

For a first event, the 50-piece minimum with mixed sizes is enough to test properly without carrying risk. If it sells, reorder at a quantity where bulk discounts of up to around 35% apply. Model options in the free instant price calculator and preview designs in the free Design Studio before committing.

Common questions about marketing — answered.

Fewer designs in greater depth. Three designs with full size coverage outsell ten designs missing half the sizes, and weighting the spread towards the middle of the range reduces stock that sits.

Customers can handle the fabric, which sells a well-made garment far better than any description. You also get immediate feedback on which designs stop people and what they ask about.

Yes. A low-price item such as a beanie or tote captures people who like the brand but will not spend on a hoodie that day, and often converts them into online customers later.

Allow around 10–15 working days production from artwork approval for screen printing and embroidery, or 15–20 for complex jobs, plus 2–5 working days delivery, with extra margin to check stock on arrival.
