Joggers for Gyms: samples
By The Velocity Wear Team
A jogger sample is £150 and that fee is credited against the bulk order you place afterwards. What you get is one real pair in your chosen fabric, hem and colourway, with the decoration applied as it will be in production. Its job is to answer the questions a screen cannot: how the fleece feels, how the colour reads indoors, and whether the logo sits where you pictured it.
Gyms order kit that gets worn on shift and washed constantly, so the fabric decision matters more than the logo decision. A sample is where that gets settled. Start from the wholesale joggers page to narrow the options first, and the gyms and fitness page if the joggers are one part of a larger kit order.
What does the fee actually buy?
A physical garment made the way the run will be made. That means the same fabric, whether you chose brushed fleece for warmth or loopback for breathability, the same cuffed or open hem, and the same decoration method. It is not a mockup and it is not a stock pair with your logo added. It is the thing you are about to order 50 of, which is exactly why it is worth having in your hands before you commit.
What should you check before signing off?
- 1Hand feel of the inner face, because that is what staff notice on a long shift and it is the hardest thing to judge from a photo.
- 2Colour under your own lighting, not the supplier photograph. Gym interiors are rarely daylight.
- 3Logo scale against the leg, which almost always looks different in person than it did on the artwork.
- 4Waistband and drawcord, since these are the parts that fail first on kit worn daily.
- 5The hem against a training shoe, particularly if you chose an open leg.

Is a render enough instead?
A render settles layout and it settles nothing else. It cannot tell you how a napped inner face feels, how a mid-tone colour shifts under artificial light, or how a stitched mark behaves when the fabric moves. The limits are set out plainly in mockups versus physical samples. Use renders to agree the design internally, then use the sample to confirm the garment.
How does the credit work against the bulk invoice?
The £150 comes off the bulk order rather than being refunded separately, so on a job you intend to place it is a timing difference and nothing more. On a job you decide against, it is the entire cost of avoiding 50 pairs you would not have been happy with. Either way it is the smallest line in the process and the one with the most leverage.
Order the sample early rather than late. A pair in hand makes the artwork decision quick, and the production window of 10 to 15 working days only begins once that artwork is approved. If the decoration method is still open, the comparison in joggers for gyms: print or embroidery will narrow it before you spend anything at all.
Be specific about what you want the sample to prove. A pair requested as a general look at the garment tells you less than one requested to settle a named question, because you will inspect it differently. If the open question is colour, ask for the exact colourway rather than a near shade. If it is fabric, order the one you are undecided about rather than the safe option. If it is logo scale, have the artwork applied at the size you intend to run, not at a size chosen to photograph well. A sample answers the question you send it out with.
