Custom Baseball Shirts for Teams, Parents and Fans
By The Velocity Wear Team
Custom baseball shirts get about thirteen hundred US searches a month, peaking in late winter as teams prepare for spring. That covers a lot of shirts: practice tees for players, team shirts for tournaments, and fan shirts for the parents and grandparents who spend every Saturday on a bleacher.
Game jerseys vs team shirts
Official game uniforms often follow league rules on colors, numbering and sometimes fabric. Check your league's requirements before ordering anything meant to be worn in games. Practice shirts, tournament tees and fan shirts are far more flexible, and they're where custom shirts shine.
The classic raglan look
The baseball tee, with contrasting three-quarter raglan sleeves, is iconic. It works for players off the field, coaches and fans. Team name across the chest in script, number on the back, done.
Parent and fan shirts
Baseball parents are some of the most enthusiastic buyers of team apparel. Popular designs include:
- Baseball Mom, Dad or Grandma with the player's number.
- The team name with the player's last name and number on the back.
- A baseball stitching graphic with the player's name.
- A tournament shirt with the event name, city and year.
Names and numbers
Collect names, numbers and sizes in one spreadsheet. Confirm numbers with the coach before ordering to avoid duplicates. Parent shirts use the child's number, so tie them to the roster.
Fabric and colors
Summer baseball is hot. Lightweight cotton tees are comfortable for fans and practice. Team colors are the obvious choice, with heather gray as a flexible base that works with any color print.
Youth sizing
Youth teams span wide age ranges. Collect sizes individually, and size up for young players who'll grow during the season. Our minimum is 20 per design with youth and adult sizes mixed, so combining player and parent shirts in one design often clears it.
Sponsors
Local businesses often sponsor youth teams. A sponsor logo on the sleeve or back of team shirts is a common thank-you. Get a vector logo and agree on placement early.
Fundraising
Selling fan shirts to families is an easy fundraiser for travel teams. Run a pre-order, add a small margin, and be clear about what the money supports, like tournament fees or equipment.
Timing
Production takes 10 to 15 working days after artwork approval, plus shipping. For opening day, order by late winter. For tournaments, give yourself four to six weeks.
Caps complete the look
Baseball and caps go together. A matching team cap for players, coaches and fans pulls the whole look together in photos. Caps are on the same 20-piece minimum and look great with a 3D puff embroidered logo.
Travel ball and tournaments
Travel baseball teams play weekend tournaments across states. A tournament-season shirt listing events on the back sells to players and families and becomes a keepsake. Order early in the season so families can wear it at the first tournament.
Coaches and staff
Coaches often wear polos or quarter zips in team colors with COACH on the back. It looks professional and helps umpires and parents identify team staff.
End-of-season awards
Championship shirts, all-star shirts and team MVP shirts reward achievement. Keep a design ready so you can order quickly when a team wins.
