Delivery Times for Wholesale Polo Shirts
By The Velocity Wear Team
Delivery sits on top of the production window rather than inside it. Production runs 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval, and transit to your address is quoted separately because it depends on the destination and the size of the order. We deliver to the UK, the USA and Europe, and invoice in seven currencies.
What decides how long transit takes?
Three things, mostly. Where it is going, because a domestic UK delivery and a shipment to a US address are different problems. How much there is, since fifty shirts travel very differently to two thousand. And how the order is packed — a single consignment to one address moves faster than the same order split into six deliveries. None of these are surprises, which is why the delivery cost and window are quoted with the order rather than estimated at the end.
How should you plan a delivery address?
Pick somewhere with a person, a door wide enough and a normal working day. Deliveries fail most often at addresses that nobody told the courier about: a school in the holidays, an office with no goods entrance, a residential address expecting a pallet, a venue that only opens on event days. If the shirts are for an event, send them to an office or a home that is reliably occupied and take them to the venue yourself. Confirm the address at order, not once the order has shipped.

Can one order go to several places?
Yes, and for multi-site buyers it is the sensible way to do it. One run of fifty can be split into cartons per destination, each with its own size mix, so nobody has to receive a pallet in one office and redistribute it. Tell us the split at order stage, because separating a packed order afterwards means unpacking it. There is a cost to multiple destinations, but it is usually less than the internal effort of doing it yourself. How the count works across sites is covered in minimum order for wholesale polo shirts.
How do you build a delivery date you can promise?
Take the date the shirts must be in hands. Subtract the transit window quoted for your destination, then the full 15 working days rather than the optimistic 10, then a week for artwork and your own approvals. If you want a sample first — £150, credited against the bulk order — add another fortnight. That is the date you commit to internally, and it is usually five to six weeks out, or seven to eight with a sample in the plan. The full production timeline is in how long do bulk polo shirts take to make.
What should you do when the delivery arrives?
Check it against the packing list before anyone starts handing shirts out, and do it on the day rather than the week after. Count the cartons, open one from each size band, and check the decoration position and the garment colour against your retained sample. Problems raised immediately are straightforward; problems raised after half the order has been worn are not. Product details and options are on the wholesale polo shirts page, and delivery is quoted alongside the band prices on the pricing page.
