Private Label Towels for Wellness and Lifestyle Brands

By The Velocity Wear Team

Yoga brands, skincare companies, fitness influencers and lifestyle shops increasingly sell towels under their own label. A towel fits naturally beside a mat, a robe, a bath product or an athleisure line. Here's how to launch one without guesswork.

Define the product

  • Use: gym, yoga, bath, spa or beach.
  • Size and GSM.
  • Fiber: for example 100% combed cotton.
  • Color palette that matches your brand.
  • Branding: embroidery, woven label, dobby border.

Start with a hero product

Launch one towel in two or three colors rather than a full range. A signature bath sheet or gym towel lets you test demand and learn before expanding.

Labels and legal basics

Textile products sold in the US generally need fiber content, country of origin and manufacturer or dealer identity labeling, plus care instructions. Don't claim Made in USA on imported goods. If you make sustainability claims, follow the FTC Green Guides and keep evidence.

Packaging

Retail towels sell on presentation. Bands, bags, tags and a clear product story matter. Our towels can include customized bags and tags.

Pricing for retail

Add up product, branding, packaging, freight, duties, fulfillment and marketing. Then price with enough margin for discounts and, if you plan to sell to other retailers, wholesale pricing.

Photography

Show texture close-up, the towel in use, and color options in natural light. Towels are tactile; photos need to communicate softness and weight.

First order sizing

Our minimum is 50 per design. For a new brand, 50 to 100 per color is a sensible test. Reorder once you know which colors sell.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1Launching too many colors.
  2. 2Vague claims like eco-friendly without evidence.
  3. 3Missing care and fiber labeling.
  4. 4Underpricing a premium product.

Quick checklist before you order

  • Hero towel defined?
  • Two or three colors?
  • Labels compliant?
  • Packaging ready?
  • Pricing includes all costs?

Telling the product story

Towels are commodities until you give them a story. Explain why you chose the weight, the fiber and the colors. Connect it to your brand's world: a post-yoga ritual, a spa-at-home experience, a beach lifestyle. Customers pay for the feeling and the reason, not just the cotton.

Bundles with existing products

Towels work beautifully bundled with products you already sell: a yoga brand's mat and towel set, a skincare brand's hair towel with a hair mask, a candle company's bath ritual box. Bundles increase order value and make towels feel like a natural part of the brand rather than a random add-on.

Selling on marketplaces

If you plan to sell on marketplaces, check their category requirements for textiles, including labeling, product information and any compliance documents. Clear product photos, accurate dimensions in inches and care instructions reduce returns.

Wholesale to boutiques

Once you have proven sales, boutiques, spas and gift shops may stock your towels. Build wholesale pricing into your model from the start so there's margin for both you and the retailer.

Reorders and color consistency

Customers who love a color expect the reorder to match. Keep a retained sample and a written spec for every color, and expect minor variation between dye lots. Communicate any changes honestly on product pages.

Order timing

Allow production plus shipping, and time for photography before launch.

Ordering

Production takes 10 to 15 working days from artwork approval, plus shipping. Request a sample first, then see wholesale towels.

Order what you just read about

Every range is made to order from a 20-piece minimum in 10–15 working days, with tiered pricing up to 40% off at volume. Price your order or order a sample pack first.
